Terms of Use

Last Updated: July 23, 2026

Agreement

These terms govern your use of the Kira mobile app and website. By using Kira, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

The Service

Kira provides tools for learning hiragana and katakana, including review scheduling, writing practice, reminders, progress tracking, and widgets. Learning results vary, and Kira does not guarantee a particular level of language proficiency.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Kira for an unlawful or harmful purpose.
  • Interfere with the app, website, related services, or other users.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or information.
  • Copy, resell, or distribute Kira except where applicable law permits it.
  • Remove proprietary notices or misuse the Kira name and artwork.

Subscriptions

Kira may offer auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple's App Store. The exact price, billing period, trial eligibility, and renewal terms are shown on Apple's purchase sheet before you confirm.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple account.
  • A subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
  • Refund eligibility is determined by Apple and applicable law.

Intellectual Property

Kira's software, design, text, graphics, branding, and original content are owned by the developer or used under license. Kana stroke-order data may include open-source material whose notices are provided in the app.

Availability and Changes

Kira may be changed, suspended, or discontinued. Features can depend on your device, operating-system version, region, and third-party services. Reasonable care is taken to keep the service available, but uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed.

Disclaimer and Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Kira is provided without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Kira. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be limited.

Apple Terms

When Kira is downloaded from Apple's App Store, Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Kira. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce the applicable App Store provisions.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated as Kira changes. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective means you accept the revised terms.
